Inspections

Necessary elements you will want to include in your safety inspection program include:

  •  Who will Conduct the Inspections
  •  The Frequency of Inspections
  •  How the Inspections will be recorded
  •  Who is responsible for reviewing inspection reports and implementing corrective actions

Inspections require a little bit of knowledge about specific safety hazards. It may be necessary for
the safety inspector to receive specialized training in some facets of the operations, as well as safety
inspecting to become more knowledgeable. An effective safety program requires the safety inspector
to be credible and have specific knowledge about safe work practices. [This may require the safety
inspector to attend formal classes offered by OSHA, the National Fire Protection Association, the
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or any number of federally or state-recognized safety agencies.
